Le 10 avril 2017Séminaire de Philippe Naveau (LSCE; CNRS-CEA-UVSQ), lundi 10 avril 2017 de 11 à 12h, salle 105 OSUB-B. Cet événement est organisé par le LJK et l’IGE.Abstract :Investigating causal links between climate forcings and the observed climate evolution over the instrumental era represents a significant part of the research effort on climate. Studies addressing these questions in the context of climate change have been providing over, the past decades, an ever increasing level of causal evidence that is important for decision makers in international discussions on mitigation policy. In practice, causal attribution has usually been performed by using a class of linear regression models (Hegerl and Zwiers 2011). In this talk, I will review the basics of such type of regressions schemes and propose different approaches to alleviate the drawbacks of such regression techniques.
