Institut de Recherche en Gestion et Economie (EA2426)
IREGE Administration 4, Chemin de Bellevue BP 80439 74944 Annecy le Vieux CEDEX France
Attached to the University of Savoy's IAE (Institut d'Administration des Entreprises) business school, the IREGE (Institut de Recherche en Gestion et en Economie - Research Institute for Management and Economics) brings together a hundred or so researchers (almost 50 of whom are full-time teaching researchers), 30 doctoral students and 20 associate researchers around the following general topic: "Environmental Choices and Innovations".
IREGE members pursue their actions in three areas: academic research, research related to the socio-economic world, and doctoral training.
The IREGE is highly active in research on mountain territories – emblematic for the USMB's strategic and geographic positioning, and on tourism – key to the economy of the two Savoie departments. The institute is a member of the LabEx ITEM (Innovation et Territoires de Montagne - Innovation and Mountain Territories).
Within the ECDT (Environment, Sustainable Consumption, Tourism) pole, research is applied to mountain territories, characterised by a wide range of actors and offers, and by a highly diverse demand. Concerning the offer, questions focus on the development of tourist organisations. Concerning the demand, the research examines the value of the tourism experience and its influencing factors.
Within the IDO pole, recent research examines the development of new models of hybrid business innovations involving a wide range of stakeholders, including tourists, residents and property owners in mountain resorts. The research also examines the implementation of a collective form of governance and territorial innovation strategies, the renewal of ski/winter activity resorts, and the service innovation process within these territories.
